Sometimes you just need to put the Queen Bee in jail.
This is what we call a Re-Queen / Artificial brood breaker Frame. This kind of Frame has been around for awhile and is used in the fight against mites
What it does and How it works.
Simply add your queen into top part and close it up. Making the queen bee pheromones present, while she’s locked away.
* makes a good re-queening Frame.
And when it’s time simply open from top of frame releasing the queen without removing the frame and not having to worry about killing her when putting frames back inside. Or dropping the little old style queen bee cage ( usually in a package of bees )
* artificially break brood ultimately helping in the Varro mite count drop.
If the queen can’t lay babies, mites can’t overpopulate and destroy your colony as the mites are inside brood and the worker bees can’t get to mites till after bees are born. Coming out with the bee ( mites x 4 ) as you can see they can overwhelm colony of bees relatively fast.

As described, I bought them to use for the spring of 2025. Hopefully, this is easier to use than the traditional ways. I'm excited to try them out. You will need to wax the foundation. The only concern i have is if left in the hive, they may propulise the holes in the screen. I intend to remove it after the queen is released, mainly to use it again in other hives if needed. Happy with the purchase.
