Hive Top feeder holds wet or dry food inside your bee hive. This helps keep unwanted guest away. Both sides are sealed with wax so they don’t leak. They come with wooden floats for the bees to stand on. Being on top makes it easy to check and refill in a flash. Just lift the lid and look. Holds up to 1 & 1/2 gallons of liquid.

***During winter months it doubles as a moisture reducer. This is done by simply putting wood chips in each side and blocking the bees out. By letting the circulation continue the wood chips will remove the moisture from your bee hive.

Great quality and great customer service

Great quality item. This is my second one purchased.

1.) Premise of the system is great design, but was concerned about no ventilation hole. No inner cover is used, so no notch. (Hmm...) This was single aspect that made me hesitate. So here is explanation why ventilation hole not needed: the large air volume in top feeder provides abundant airspace for wingbeats, so my girls can easily circulate warm air back down into the deep--allowing entrance limiter to both "inhale" and "exhale." So, if this has been your concern, FEAR NOT. 2.) I put two coats of paint on the outside last night, and put feeders in place this morning. 3.) I love the fact that now I only need remove top covers to visually see levels, and add feed accordingly. No more disturbing deep frames to access internal feeder, then measure levels with a dip-stick to know when to add. These feeders are awesome!
